My advice would be, to set the drone in a way to capture images in JPG format. This way you avoid quality loss when converting.

Hi guys,

I have made a drone survey with a DJI Matrice 300 RTK + DJI Zenmuse P1. As an export I received images in DNG format, but I cannot import them into 3DSurvey.
My thought was to convert the files from DNG to JPG format and import them after. Is this possible without a loss of quality of the images?

Hi Wes,

Checkpoints are part of legacy workflow, I recommend that instead of Checkpoints you use Data/Load CAD from Menu bar and load in a txt file. That way you will be able to modify or delete each point. Also measuring distances and heights will work smoother.

How can I remove checkpoints from point cloud after reviewing data?
Are checkpoints assigned to a CAD layer or Point cloud named by file?

I have made and evaluated a drone survey for a client. Now I would like to send him the files so that he can have a look at the results. Which open source programmes are best suited for him to view a 3D mesh with texture, for example? Or is there a 3DSurvey Viewer?

Hi Steve,

Interpolation radius of 3 feet simply meanis that the height of the generated point will be the mean height of points that are in radius of 3 feet around the point that is being calculated.

If snap to lowest checkbox is enabledd, then the height of point will be the lowest point in the radius of 3feet.

When generating CAD points from a point cloud, and specifying "Snap to Lowest", what is the "Interpolation Radius" and how does changing it affect what point is selected?  For example, I created a point cloud using High Reconstruction and I want to pull out the lowest points on a 30 foot grid spacing to obtain ground surface points around sparsely spaced trees and shrubs.  The prompt defaults to an Interpolation Radius of 3 ft.  What happens in that 3 ft radius?  Thanks.
