General Discussion / Re: What are the most suitable targets, for GCPs?
« on: February 22, 2022, 03:30:09 PM »
For Ground Control Points we suggest you print out the 27 cm targets on recyclable cardboard. I’ll attach the pdf of the target. This target type offers you automatic centering which speeds up the orientation process a lot. You can also find it under other in downloadables on our 3Dsurvey website, but first, you do need to sign in with your 3Dsurvey account.

If you are using Phantom Pro the spacing between neighboring points should be between 100m and 200m (300' and 600').

For the first 10 projects, we suggest you use the AUTO camera mode, to be 100% sure you'll get the end results.
Nevertheless, to get the best results set the camera settings manually to:
Photo ratio: 3:2
White balance: Sunny
Focus mode: Auto Focus
Distortion correction: OFF
Shutter priority: ON
If we are doing photos in: Spring - 1/1000s (shutter speed)
                                          Summer - 1/1600s (shutter speed)
                                          Autumn - 1/1000s (shutter speed)
                                          Winter - 1/100s (shutter speed)
*Shutter speed shouldn't be faster than 1/1600s (1/2000s isn't good anymore), as the mechanical shutter changes to the electronic rolling shutter.

General Discussion / Re: How to import a point cloud into Autocad?
« on: February 22, 2022, 10:43:09 AM »
The first thing you need to do is save your point cloud as las file in 3DSurvey.

Then we open it in Autocad ReCap and save it as rcp file.

Next, we open Autocad and type in PCATTACH (point cloud attach command). We find our recap file and select it.

At last click ok, and that is it.
The process was well explained in our webinar, so I'm also adding the link:
