General Discussion / Re: How to import multiple image folders?
« on: March 24, 2022, 12:21:00 PM »
The simplest solution is to just copy the images from different flights into one folder. The reason 3Dsurvey doesn't allow loading images from different folders is, that the temporary files are stored in the folder with images. It would be quite inconvenient to have some temporary files in one folder and other ones in different folders. Therefore I recommend in this case to just copy all the images into one joint folder and process from there.

A full list of 3D points that make a profile is accessible by generating a measurements report.

If you need just 3D points at the start and end of profile lines, you can place them there manually.

After that click on Data/Save CAD as and save the profile in a txt file.

The problem with your DXF is that your walls are vertical. Breaklines wouldn't cross or be in the same positions. Just draw a new DXF where the top polyline is slightly longer than the lower polyline, also it mustn't have any intersections with the lower one. If they intersect only one will be used.

Yes, Bridges are tricky.  In this case, I recommend adding bridge points manually to terrain points by selecting them using the select tool.

First delete the points below the terrain, (you can try using Top-down and Ortho-mode) and select the bridge Next go back to perspective mode and deselect the bridge. You will end up with a selection of points directly below the bridge, like in my screenshot. Delete these points!

Select the bridge points again, right-click the Ground Class and select "Set this class to selected points" from the context menu.

At last, create the orthophoto out of this DTM model.

You should get this kind of result:

Alternatively, you can make a textured 3D Model and true-orthophoto instead of this workflow.

General Discussion / Re: How you can extract breaklines with 3Dsurvey?
« on: March 17, 2022, 10:52:23 AM »
I suggest you calculate your contours with a 0.3' interval and then draw the breaklines where you see that contours become denser:

To reduce the number of triangles in the mesh first right click the mesh and select "Symplify".

Then put in the new number of triangles you want your mesh to have and click simplify.

The new mesh will be saved under the original one.

General Discussion / Re: How to save a mesh in dxf format?
« on: March 17, 2022, 10:06:53 AM »
If you want to save mesh in dxf format, first right click the desired mesh, and click "Save as". Select dxf as file type and save your file. I don't recommend doing that with meshes with millions of triangles because Cad softwares wont be able to handle them well.
If you want to save your CAD lines and points that you drew in, simply click on "Data"/"Save CAD as" and again select dxf as file type.

Yes, you can, but we advise you to rather buy an RTK drone, as sometimes we see users making errors with PPK data. Also, PPK data should have an accuracy of a few cm, but it then turns out that actual accuracy is lower.

General Discussion / Re: How to create a TIF & TFW file from DSM?
« on: March 03, 2022, 02:14:04 PM »
First, when you are loading images you should remember what horizontal coordinate system you are using as you’ll have to state it when setting your coordinate reference system in QGIS. You must also set your project vertical coordinate system to ellipsoidal heights.

When exporting it from QGIS make sure to set DSM coordinate system to the horizontal coordinate system you had to remember and set the output coordinate system to WGS.

Mission planning / Re: How to import kml file to the Pilot application?
« on: February 22, 2022, 03:47:33 PM »
1.) Open your kml in Google Earth:

2.) Save the kml under a new name using the “save as” function, by right-clicking on it and selecting Save Place As:

3.) Load the newly saved kml into the Pilot app.

I have created a kml border (in Civil 3D) to create a flight area. The software does not import the file properly, while Google Earth does.

General Discussion / Re: How to add a Geoid model to 3Dsurvey?
« on: February 22, 2022, 03:36:32 PM »
To add a Geoid model to 3Dsurvey you first need to download a zip file containing a batch file and a 3DGEOID file. They can also be found on our website, under downloadables, but you first need to sign in with your 3Dsurvey account.
Link to downloadable Geoids: https://www.3dsurvey.si/account/downloadables
After downloading the file you extract it

and open the unzipped folder. Next, you double-click the Batch file.

If you get a warning sign like this,

click more info and then click run anyway.

The CMD will open, and to close it just click any key.
After that, you will need to restart 3Dsurvey.
Now when choosing your Geoid you will see your new option available.

General Discussion / Re: Where can I download the Geoid models?
« on: February 22, 2022, 03:33:20 PM »
The Geoid models can be downloaded on our official 3Dsurvey website under downloadables. After clicking the link you first need to log in with your 3Dsurvey account, and under Geoid you choose the one you need. If the one you desire isn’t there, just write a reply in the Forum or write us an email on support@3dsurvey.si
Here is the link to the downloadable Geoids:
