Mission planning / Re: Mavic Mini 3 Pro

Unfortunately 3Dsurvey Pilot does not support Mavic Mini 3 Pro - In case DJI release SDK for it we will support it.

Bundle Adjustment / Re: Reprojection error
« on: March 20, 2023, 02:31:06 PM »
Hi Jay,

With Mavic 3E we get reprojection error in exactly same range. This is expected and reprojection error of less the 1 pixel is good, because the tiepoints are detected with an accuracy of about 1 pixel. I would worry if reprojection error would be higher then 1.5 pixel or if it was maybe 2 pixels for your drone.

Workflows / Re: Classification Settings
« on: March 06, 2023, 11:00:45 AM »

Terrain elevation and terrain slope - these two parameters govern the first step of classification. This is a greedy algorithm. It keeps adding points, after you select the first one, as long as the height difference between first and neighboring point is less then Terrain elevation parameter and angle between first and second point is less then Terrain slope. So in short - increasing these two parameters will increase the size of area that is selected after you click on a point in 1st step of classification.

Then algorithm makes a digital terrain model (regular grid mesh ) out of the selected points. Regular grid mesh cell size and smoothing factor govern this algorithm. Here we would increase the regular grid mesh size, if our area was very big - more then 1km by 1 km.

Then final part of point filtering - for each point in pointcloud algorithm checks it in relation to this digital terrain model. If the point is less then "Smoothing max distance" above the digital terrain model and less then three times "Smoothing max distance" below the digital terrain mode, it gets added to final selection.

Hi,

the fastest way to take control over the drone is to cancel the mission by moving switch from P mode to S and back to P mode. Then you can use your RC sticks to control the drone.
Unfortunately with this procedure you lose the possibility to continue the mission from the last point.

Best, Marko

Reconstruction / Re: Bounding box
« on: January 04, 2023, 01:45:31 PM »
Hi Ivan,

You can not use bounding box to define where you want to calculate pointcloud, but you can use select here in Images tab to select which images are used for pointcloud calculation (only selected images will be used)

Reconstruction / Re: CheckPoints
« on: December 13, 2022, 01:36:10 PM »
Hi Wes,

Checkpoints are part of legacy workflow, I recommend that instead of Checkpoints you use Data/Load CAD from Menu bar and load in a txt file. That way you will be able to modify or delete each point. Also measuring distances and heights will work smoother.

CAD / Re: Generating CAD Points from a Point Cloud _ Interpolation Radius
« on: October 26, 2022, 12:04:13 PM »
Hi Steve,

Interpolation radius of 3 feet simply meanis that the height of the generated point will be the mean height of points that are in radius of 3 feet around the point that is being calculated.

If snap to lowest checkbox is enabledd, then the height of point will be the lowest point in the radius of 3feet.

Dear hyeon,

as describe already on previous post this sound to me as a failure of drone gimbal.
3Dsurvey Pilot control just the Camera angle (Pitch) and not the rotation of the camera.

Best, Marko.

Dear hyeon,

3Dsurvey Pilot App control just the camera angle (Pitch) and not the rotation of the camera. Seem to me that this could be a gimbal issue from the drone. My suggestion is to do a gimbal calibration with the help of DJI App and test how it works on new test flight.

After you finish with the mission we set prepare the drone for landing and turn the camera angle to 0 degrees - horizontal position. In this case there is minimum option to damage the camera lens during the landing.

In case you will do the gimbal calibration and test flight please let us know if this solve your issue with camera.

Hi,

looks like we are not supporting the latest SDK for Mavic 2 PRO. We don't have in plan to upgrade the IOS version of 3Dsurvey Pilot in near future so I would warmly advise to check out our NEW Android version of 3Dsurvey pilot (in case you have option to use Android device) where you have available additional flaying missions and camera setting inside of 3Dsurvey Pilot application. I am peaty sure that real time camera view will work with your Mavic 2 PRO drone.

Happy 3Dsurveying!

Dear szymon.zimniak,

thank you for contacting us via forum.
We are currently in release process of NEW Android version of 3Dsurvey Pilot with a lot of new functionalities -> Areal (best for 3D models for large areas covered with buildings), Dome (perfect for small 3D models - house, accident mapping,...), Free flight (just fly and trigger camera automatically every 2 second or every N meter - best for facade mapping) and a lot of stability improvements.

After the release we will see the results from the New version and evaluate if we go also in development of IOS version.

My suggestion is to start you sing the app already now with the android device - if you have this option.

Best, Marko

Mission planning / Re: 3d survey Pilot problem
« on: January 03, 2022, 03:45:26 PM »
Dear Miloš,

1st problem is issue from DJI SDK and there is nothing we can help you with. From our feedback usually helps if you just wait a minute or two and the drone will probably continue to fly. We think that the issue is that the drone could not find the WP coordinate with the expected accuracy and it's just continue to hovering around the WP.

2nd: We can support you with the right SDK for drones with integrated display. If you are still interesting please contact us on support@3dsurvey.si

Best, Marko.

Mission planning / Re: Mission Uploading Failed
« on: January 03, 2022, 03:35:49 PM »
Dear Shirley,

could be that the mission had more than 100 way points? Could you please attache screenshot from your mission you had issue with?
What mission type did you selected (grid mission, road mission,...)?

Thank you.
Best, Marko

Bug Reports / Re: 3D Survey Pilot - Line mission problem.
« on: October 07, 2021, 12:51:32 PM »
Dear O'car,

thank you for such a detailed description.

We checked your KML file and the problem is that the 3Dsurvey Pilot app creates 120 way points based on your selected central line but DJI SDK support just 100 waypoints.

Our suggestion:
- create central line with less waypoints - see image in attachment
- or create shorter mission
- or select less lines... as you already did. But for good accuracy we suggest you minimum 3 lines.

Bundle Adjustment / Rolling Shutter support
« on: April 17, 2021, 10:06:54 PM »
Hi guys,

Has 3dsurvey some kind of rolling shutter compensation algorithm? Or any kind of tool which is able to remove rolling shutter effect ?

 Thanks a lot, M
