Hi, guys I'm just getting started with 3dsurvey and i had a little installation problem of geoid file. I do as it is in the manual, but the program does not see these files. I would like to import geoide for Polish.

General Discussion / Re: Keeping the recorder camera height fixed
« Last post by ivan.zan.barbaric on September 26, 2022, 09:56:31 AM »
You unfortunately cannot import a 3D CAD line.
However, you can click the "Reset view" button in the top left corner, giving you a perfect bird's eye view. After that just click and hold the scroll wheel, and move around. This way you will stay at the same height at all times.
You can also try using the "Free flight" mode (fourth option to the right from the "Reset view" button), which mimics the drone's flight. You use the A, S, D, and W keys to move around, always staying at the same height.

General Discussion / Keeping the recorder camera height fixed
« Last post by mr.chy on September 25, 2022, 10:23:22 AM »
Hello.
I am trying to create a video along a proposed railway alignment over the acquired point cloud data using the "Recorder" feature. As I go along the alignment and keep adding "Camera" locations, it is becoming difficult to keep the height and the orientation angle of the multiple cameras same. I need to keep it same all through the video to ensure a smooth video fixed at the same height and orientation. Is there any procedure to create such a camera path with fixed camera orientation, like a 3D CAD line and import it as camera path?

Mission planning / Re: DJI Mini SE and 3DSurvey Pilot

Hello, so given the reply today I tested the free flight option with the Mini SE drone and it worked perfectly. It was a bit tricky at first but it was quite easy at the end. Thanks again!

Cheers.

Mission planning / Re: DJI Mini SE and 3DSurvey Pilot

Hi,
We have not yet tested DJI Mini SE, but the app does support similar drones like mini 1 and mini 2 in the new "Free Flight" mission, which takes the images automatically while you drive the drone manually. Images are taken according to the trigger distance you set at the beginning, creating enough overlap to achieve more than sufficient precision.

To answer your second question, the new version now contains the camera settings within the 3Dsurvey pilot app making the general workflow way simpler.
The app also contains a couple of new convenient missions, which however do cost around 5€ a month.

Mission planning / Drone Won't Start a Mission unless it is inside the boundaries
« Last post by kimbrrly.olsen on September 01, 2022, 10:16:38 AM »
I am using a DJI Phantom 4 Pro Plus with GL300C Version B controller and Lenovo M8 Gen 2. When I create a mission, it will successfully upload to the drone but the drone will not takeoff. Pressing the takeoff button just loops back to the mission map. If I move the drone to within the boundaries of the mission which is very close by- 20 m to the start point, the drone will launch. This is not very practical for commercial mission of the type that I do.

I've had the same behavior from Pix4D capture

Mission planning / DJI Mini SE and 3DSurvey Pilot
« Last post by ocar.campos on August 31, 2022, 06:29:12 PM »
Hello guys;

Long time user of 3DSurvey Pilot with a phantom 4 pro v2.0 and an iPad but this time I am testing new and lighter gear;

Drone: DJI Mini SE.
Phone: Pixel 6.
App: 3D Survey Pilot App.

3D Survey Pilot recognizes the drone and I am able to configure the mission with no problems. But, app keeps poping the following message:

"Failed to get focus upper bound. The feature is unsupported".

Anyways I keep operating the app until launching the mission. Here every preflight check passes but uploading the mission to drone where I get:

"Mission upload failed: The system is too busy to execute the action".

So, I can not actually fly the mission. This leads me to ask here;

- Is the DJI Mini SE supported by 3D Survey Pilot?
- If so, am I missing something in the new version of the app for android? (I am used to the old version of the app)

Thanks in advance!

Attached 2 pictures with SS from the phone with the messages.

Dear hyeon,

as describe already on previous post this sound to me as a failure of drone gimbal.
3Dsurvey Pilot control just the Camera angle (Pitch) and not the rotation of the camera.

Best, Marko.
